I know, I know... with all the craziness of GABF and LA beer week, and a jam-packed concert month next door, we skipped October's month's brown bag night, but we are hopping back in the swing of things this month with a fun theme.
This month's theme: "Beers I'm thankful ...for". Think of whatever great beer you may "take for granted" year round because it's ALWAYS around. This tasting is a time to grab one of those 'old favorites' or 'revered classics' and throw 'em in the lineup blind!
Background info:
Once again, Blue Palms Brewhouse is hosting a loosely structured double-blind monthly tasting of beers within a set theme. The idea is that this is a way to strip away any pretensions and preconceptions about specific beers you are drinking, and to challenge and educate your palate about the flavors and aromas you experience.
Starting at 6 PM on Wednesday Sept 30th, we will do a "Brown Bag" tasting of various beers in small pours, and you can evaluate, rate, savor, and compare the beers to one another as part of the tasting. Price of admission? Just a bottle or two of beers that you bring in for the occasion AND $2.00 (towards gratuity for the service staff). If you're bringing a 22 oz. or 750 mL bottle, one should be enough. If it's a 12-ounce bottle or can, please bring two.
RSVP in person at the bar. All you need to do is come in, give the bartender $2 service fee, and your name will be added to the guest list. This will help keep the tasting at a reasonable size & provide ample pours for all.
